Hi i just bought my CTR three weeks ago, and before buying it i didnt check the heated seats worked. got it home a nice 142 miles journey later to find they didnt. So i did the obvious and checked the fuse, none there so i put one there, still nothing working!! Im pretty sure ther is heated seats on it because the buttons are there by the gear stick and there are cables going to the underneath of the seats and a load of gubbings underneath. Any ideas on why they arent working?? i havent got to do anything first before they work have i??

You can't, previous owner must have had some aftermarket ones installed or retro fitted Honda ones.
Could be a number of reason as to why they aren't working though, no power going to them, previous owner removed them prior to sale...
Do the switches have lights on them to indicate whether they're on or not?

As a professional driver I've often wondered why they install heated seats ?

Depends on how cold it is outside.
In the UK, you probably have a point, over here it's a standard feature on almost every new car (but not the CTR).

Heated seats are only on the leather seats, I've got em, standard on EX models. Love it, when its freezing cold in the mornings!!
My type-S also has non-leather (but alcantara)heated seats.

Oh right, well I haven't seen any in this country having heated seats on alcantara !!
Correct me if i'm wrong unless any fellow members from the UK can confirm this....

I got heated seats on my TypeS with alcantara, too.
They came as part of the "advantage pack", together with front tweeters, dual zone aircon, alarm, cruise control, fog lights, foldable mirrors, auto lights and auto wipers. (Maybe some other stuff I can't remember. In fact I don't know what was standard and what was part of the package. It's just all in there...)

Mainland Europe Civic trim specs are completely different to UK Civic trim specs.
Unfortunatly in the UK only Civics with leather seats can have heated seats factory fitted.

On the EX-model they come as standard. Not sure about any other models though...My full leather has no heated seats
