new to the forum...just bought a 2009 es 2.2 diesel hatch...

the ac isn't working, and i had a specialist look at it...he said it's the compressor...

so, i'm looking for a used one...had 4 quotes that seem reasonable...how can i be sure that they'll fit my car...?

also, i'm not sure that my car is a 09, or a late registered earlier model...how can i find out...?

thanks

For the manufacture date, I think you may be able to get this either from the door panel serial number, or VIN Number - Can't remember the particularities from the top of my head, but you should be able to decypher the door sticker; VIN Info can be found on the internet.

As for the compressor, Did they attempt / complete a regas? If so, And it is retaining pressure, You could be worth shimming the compressor clutch - Might save you buying a new compressor.

Id try the relay first, it may be just that that is knackered. For £4 id try that first before swapping a compressor.

Btw do you mean is it a Facelift Civic? If its a face lift it will have the 2 nostril front grill.
