Hi all..

I have an Alabaster Silver FN2. 84k on the clock.. was used by a sales rep who managed to do 60k in it within a couple of years. FHSH (almost!)

Anyway, car is fine. But.. I have this noise which has been doing my head in for ages now.

When you labour the engine, there is a very loud rattle from the front. The best way to replicate it is to roll down the 23mph in 4th gear, then stick my foot down. It rattle like crazy then suddenly dissapears.

Is this normal?! I've removed almost every heatshield on the car to try and eliminate the noise.

Thanks Dweezle, I've had the valve clearance done at ABP less than 2k ago, so those should be fine.

I'm thinking it's to do with labouring the engine so hard?

A friend who has an MX5 says his does a similar thing..
