Hi, I'm having a problem with my 8th gen 2.2 civic ex. The boot needs slamming to make it lock. If I just close it normally, it catches but does not lock. Now I've had a good look and it seems the lick in the moving part of the boot is loose. How do I remove all the plastic trim to tighten it up?? Thanks in advance. Gary

Isn't there some plastic covers on the boot trim, once removed there should be some screws? You can also adjust the small rubbers on the boot lid which aligns the boot, this amy help with the closing and locking?

There are two screws in the handles, remove them.
Remove the plastic access panels (just to make life easier).

Then just pull. REALLY hard.

Thanks you two. I removed the two screws and pulled extremely hard. That did the trick. The lock had virtually unscrewed itself!
