My car is the Honda Civic Type-R FN2 2009

I was recently driving at high revs with the v-tec kicking in and suddenly my car lost alot of power and all sorts of lights started flashing on the dash.

I've been to a garage who put my car on the computer and it came up with the below code.

P2647 Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Switch (A) Circuit High Voltage/VTEC System Stuck On.

Any help with exactly what this is and a rough estimate on how much it would be to repair would be much appreciated.

First I'd disconnect the battery negative for 1/2 hr to wipe the code and rule out an ECU fart. It'll be free too.


The Rocker arm switch is on the vtec assembly on the upper rear left of the engine as you look at it at the back of the rocker cover.

You can buy a whole assembley for 200 odd quid.


Personally I would change the oil pressure switch before this as it is cheaper. Maybe try a breakers etc for one first ( any k20 will fit - EP3 etc.)

I'd be tempted to do a oil filter and oil change too and if you remove the spool valve there is a small filter in there to clean as well.


I wouldn't be driving it hard/far either until fixed.
