cheers ben.
vergio i am slowly making changes to the car to transform it to the type s, and the next thing to do is the side skirt and wheel arches as i have already done the grill. after that its the alloys, spoiler and fogs, and apart from that i think i would have the main things done. sorry to annoy anybody, but its just that i cannot get insured on a Type S but really like the look of it.

Strange how you can't get insured on the Type-S as they also do a 1.4.

You need to be careful when modding as you will need to inform your insurers about your mods which may increase your premiums or they can refuse to insure you any further.

Good luck with your transformation!

i have a 2006 1.4. Couldn't afford the newer 1.4 Type S as that was a couple of grand more. Thanks for the info in regards to the insurance. I will give them a ring and let them know i have a Type S badge and grill.

It all depends on your Insurer and the actual Policy you have - I have informed my Insurer about everything I've done, and they always say "noted - no impact on your premiums - just remember that any difference between OEM \ ex-works and aftermarket \ now stuff isn't covered ...

And don't ring them ! - send an eMail - and keep both it and their response - just in case ...

Sorry for my earlier lame answer, but I just don't like cars being modded to another version in the 8th gen series.

It would be like I would mod my Type S into a Type R while I can't even compete with those monsters.

Just my thoughts mate, no hard feelings.

I wouldn't do it either, but to each his own and if that is what rocks the OP's boat, tis fair enough by me.;)

Ditto - please don't make a CTS look like a CTR - for me, it's fine to fit CTR parts, but not Red H badges or Type R badges
