All engines are like this so I wouldnt worry too much, just dont 'rag' it about too much whilst its cold.

You might notice the gear changes aren't the smoothest either until the gearbox oil warms up. All engine parts and fluids have operating temperatures.

The motor is running on Honda's oil as supplied by the main stealer. Because of the mileage I don't thrash it anyway. 3500 Revs is as high as it gets with my motor. If your stuck behind a red Civic.......Its probably me :)

Got to remember cars are alot more advanced nowadays. I remember my dad talking about cars needing new clutches after 50k and classing them as wear and tear parts like exhausts and bearings etc. My first car was a 98 fiesta with 150k on the clock and I used to thrash that about like it was a rally car

I used to thrash about in my 2.3 Granada in my younger days....The things we did.
I had a TD4 Freelander that was noisy when it was cold but that had 157k on it.
I realise I'm worrying about nothing but it's best to check eh?

I have just handed my Passat back to my employer. A truly great car and I miss it like hell (Sorry Civic owners). I bought my Civicl with 118000 on the clock and it was doing 4k a year there after. It has just been put into general service as my work car doing 60 miles a day. I have no idea how the car was driven by the previous Owner/Drivers (fleet car). It doesn't burn oil which is a good sign I suppose. Time will tell.
