Car was making a high pitched constant hum/drone in the heavy rain last night. Didn't alter with revs or with the clutch depressed or in neutral. It did dissappear at low road speed, sub 25mph and wasn't tied to engine revs.

Thought it may have been brake Pads but the handbrake, lightly pulled didn't stop it. Sounds like it was coming from the nearside rear wheel. Seemed to quite down once things dried off. Any ideas?
Car is 08 2.2 icdti type s.

Put the car on axle stands and spin the wheels in the air to see if you can replicate the sound.

Also thought wheel bearing but it seemed to ease off when loaded through a turn. Will get the wheel off the ground and give it a spin and rock it up and down and side to side.

Could just be a resonance caused by the water & road surface in combination with the tyres.

My does something similar on a particular stretch of road with small grooves running in the direction of driving. a sort of thrumming sound.

Went out earlier today on dry surfaces and no sound. Checked my tyre pressure, fronts were 2.2 and rears at 2.0 so that can't have helped. Will be driving the same roads tomorrow so will have to see.

Used the same roads today, same speeds but the rain was not as bad. No noise. Possibly just one of those things.

Looking to book into honda hq in cannock for a health check at some point.
