As per title, that has to be a good thing and can only help them produce yet more sports road models, and good sign for the new Type R getting some investment!

I think the BBC F1 team have a good history of breaking news but yes Honda have not yet gone public but it's hard to believe they will not now.

After all, being an engine supplier gets you noticed without all the pressure or more importantly the big costs of running your own team.

Could also back fire badly if they dont jointly produce winning cars.
Failure is not an option.

These rumours have been around for a while now and they have been from the same peope and consistent. It is also semi backed up by other goings on at Honda. Look at WTCC for one instance.

Generally, when Honda go into something like this, Failure isnt something that they acknowledge as being an outcome at all. The statement about wanting the Type R to be the fastest fwd car around the 'Ring being one of them. So much so, they beginn testing later this year for a car that wont be launched until 2015. Serious intent methinks.

Look what happended at BAR honda though.
I dont consider that a success....not until they pulled the plug and it became brawn GP.
Problem is wether that was down to Honda or BAR is irrelevant..they get tarred with the same brush.
Maclaren have made a couple of lemons in the past.
They have struggled since Adrian Newey left IMHO.

Still....probably stand more chance of success with maclaren than anyone else.

For once, i'll find it interesting, F1 that is.

Not for the processional round and round follow the leader tour of the circuit but more from the change in engine styles and tech. Going to a four cylinder (essentially 1.6 engine block) with all the trimmings will massively change the impact of weight, aerodynamics, tactics, tyres the works - should lead to a little less of how far ahead is Vettel and lets look at mr oh so clean Hamilton and a bit more driving.....
