Hi all,

I took my honda civic to the Honda main dealers as my car would not start, they called me to say that i need a new actuator which will cost around £1900, which is ridiculous.

I did some reading in this forum previously and how Honda will try to charge this much, when in actual fact, it could be repaired/ reconditioned for much cheaper in some places.

Does anyone know where I can get my current faulty actuator repaired???

I cam across ECU Solutions Wales, but not sure how reliable they are, can anyone help please? I'm desperate and have been without a car for over a week now.

Thank you!!!

Hello. I've done this once using ECU solution Wales... Their job was brilliant and I also asked for two pairs of carbon brushes to recondition both gear actuators as well. Did this myself and the car is running sweet! ou need to remove the actuator from its housing; order a new clutch pipe oring and the clip that holds it in place.
Then You need to hook a HDS up and do the learning process/bleeding.
It took me around 6hrs all together (+2 days for ECU Wales to ship it back to me)
Good luck!
