Take a look at the sites in the USA for the new Hybrid Civic.

Prices start at the equivalent of £26.000. Batteries last between 6 and 10 years and a replacement at a cost of £4000.00.

Starting prices in the US mean very little - they don't include the dealer mark up which on the Civic ehev will be easily $8k to $10k - then of course there are various taxes to be added

Er, no Civic Hybrid. Yet.

It is due in the USA, but not available.

So the advertised US prices aren't OTR ?
No. Local, state and various federal tax rates dictate final pricing.

The Yanks have never been short of ideas on how to make money.
Their sales tax regime is a bundle of laughs, especially in California.

While I was in the gym last week I was watching this video from Scotty Kilmer - it was bought for $10k over sticker price and it's not the ehev its just a 2 litre

I've seen a number of his videos and he appears pretty knowledgeable. But talk about verbal diarrhea! And that voice! The sound of my Stihl garden strimmer is sheer magic in comparison.😜
