Can anyone tell me if it is worth purchasing the Honda extended warranty, the car I bought is only one and a half years old with <10,000 miles but I would like the piece of mind offered with an extra 2 years warranty.

Does anyone have experience good or bad regarding making a claim under the extended warranty, are there any obvious exclusions I should be aware of, I haven't had a chance to look at the terms and conditions yet so a heads up on what to look out for would be great.

It's definitely a HONDA extended warranty I am on about.
I would really like the added comfort of the warraty however you often hear that these things are not worth the paper they are written on and like your insurance you never really know how good it is until claim time.

The price seems reasonable and for 2 years is less than the cost of warranty direct for 1 year!

You cant edit a post title, however the mods should pick up on it and change for you. If I were you mate I'd get te warranty even if I didn't use it atleast you know its there if you need it.

Went for the 2 years in the end, it seems pretty comprehensive i.e. not a listed warranty, it covers "all mechanical and electrical components" with some exclusions for consumables such as light bulbs, clutch plates and brake discs. I would normally pay for breakdown cover separately so when this is factored into the cost it seems like quite a good deal.

Honda were offering a one year deal including Honda Assistance for £250 a while ago. Is that still the case?

Yes it was 1 year warranty + Honda assistance for £250 or 2 years warranty + Honda assistance for £450. When I went into my local dealer they quoted ~£475 for 1 year so I took the first offer.

I don't understand why the dealer has quoted £475???

I got the cheaper prices from the dealer who I bought the car from which is not local to me, I popped into my local dealer for something else and they mentioned they can also provide the warranty but they reckoned it was around £475.

Looking at the Honda website here: Extended Guarantees | Used Cars | Honda (UK)

They have the Warranty down as £399 for 12 months so it's possible that my local dealer didn't know about the offer which is on and they were quoting their original price, are all the prices standard or can they vary between dealerships? Anyway I purchased the first cheaper option so I'm happy with the price.

When I bought my second hand R from a honda dealer the years warranty it came with was down as a cost of £100 on the invoice

My car still has a year and a half manufacturers warranty so I didn't need the approved used car honda hapiness 12 month warranty, I wanted the piece of mind that once the year and a half was up that I would still be covered
