As the next gen hatch will be sold in the US, I'd imagine the body structure strength would be improved significantly as the US crash test requirements are quite stringent. That is why the US sedan is ACE2 structure whereas the current hatch is ACE1.

I hope that doesn't mean that the suspension will be tuned to US tastes i.e. lovely and compliant ride but with no cornering ability.

I'm not yet convinced that Honda's idea of having global hubs for individual models is a good one. But then again, they manufacture cars and I don't so I guess they know what they're up to!
