So...
Was driving the parents to the pub for a birthday party, was going along a main road with double parked cars when a man in a Merc felt it was okay to drive in the middle of the road! I elected not to stop as the obstructions were on his side of the road, yet he thought the same. Still driving in the middle of the road he clipped my wing mirror, which made a clunk sound but not 1 problem, I took the same route home and he was parked up maybe 500 yards with his mirror practically inside out. It had bent from say an 70 degree angle to more like 120 degree.:nenner:

I call this my friend Karma..drive like an idiot and seep the results...
My dad wasnt too pleased I didn't wait, so I told him, if he had broke my wing mirror, I'd have turned round and put the VTEC to work...and of course his insurance policy.

But the Honda certainly proved who was toughest...I think my BHP also increased because of it

Hi 5!

The road where I am is like this. Was giving my car a quick wipe earlier (just off the road) when I saw someone who had right of way forced off. He came out with some choice language that I can't publish!

Good to know the Civic is tougher than a Merc but having been forced into overgrown bushes the paintwork is extremely weak and lost out!

I'll be honest..I werent in the best of moods, and this driver was an absolute fool! I refuse to be bullied by a fat old man who felt as if he had precedent over anyone!

To be honest, on the road there are several pubs, so it wouldn't suprise me if he had had a few too many Bacardi Breezers...but yeah...al take the hi5!

Thats awesome, i had almost the same thing with me fairly recently.

A taxi driver decided to swerve round someone who had the door wide open, rather than patiently wait for me to pass, i had no time to stop nor anywhere to go, we clashed mirrors and i hope his fell of in due course. My indicator on the mirror has a small crack in it, but not noticeable unless you go looking..

In all honesty i cannot stand many drivers on the road, so many inconsiderate, impatient muppets it gets my blood to boil. In the 7 mile trip to work EVERY day there is at least one person who cannot get in the correct lane at a simple roundabout or who tried to jump the queue of people by going in the wrong lane etc. Taxi drivers are very bad for this (IMO). Dustbin lorries get on my wick also, but thats another story ;)

Anyway, lets all be happy our Civic is built like a tank, it can even take out pigeons ;)

Mate...I was driving up quite a steep hill on Friday near my house, and there were 2 bin lorries, driving on the wrong side of the road? So I stopped and thought what is he playing at, I was too close to the top of the hill to overtake as it would've been a blind overtake and I didn't fancy that. He pulled closer to me..about 4 yards from my bumper (i waited as I wasnt in a rush) and then tried urging me to reverse by revving and "schuing" me with his hand...in which I replied with a similar hand signal...These men work for the council! Which is paid for via council tax!
I could've got mad but it was a warm day, and I had a nice long drive on the horizon and was very cool and collected...until he leant and shouted "you (beeping) young lads need to learn the rules of the road"...so I told him "you ought to re-read the highway code, as you are meant to drive on the left, and also use your indicators" and then turned right without looking causing another driver to slam on and beep!

I feel your pain!

Don't be too cocky - the Civic's front is as soft as butter (crumple zone) ...

I was hit by a **** who didn't give way at a roundabout (didn't even look sideways !), on the front corner - a slow speed collision, looked not too bad, still driveable, and not even any broken glass ...

Wing, bonnet, bumper, HID washer, tow-point, and a good deal of supporting structure were actually deformed and needed replacing - over £ 2,500 in repair costs - but, the other guy's insurance company coughed up in full ...

I came out of work a couple of mornings ago (work night shifts), and found that someone had gone down the whole street where I was parked, kicking wing mirrors off cars. They'd destroyed all of them, bar mine, lol. It was bent right back, but just popped back into place, not a mark on it, absolutely fine! My Accord is tough as old boots, hope the FK3 I'm picking up today is as hard!

Based on what you say above the merc's insurer would put a case forward that its your fault. Plus you both failed to stop after an accident.

A drunk student one night decide to run into my run car, after I decided to let his mates cross the road, I was doing 14mph (speed humps) he almost took out the whole mirror with his hips! (ouch!!) just hanging by the wires, and he dislodge the mount for the mirror...... not so tough!

Did you prove he wasn't so tough either? :police:
