A wierd thing happend last night.

We had a heavy rain shower last night which lasted all of 10 minutes, but about 30 minutes later my car horn started up and stayed on constantly. This happened twice until I finally disconnected the battery - I had no other option at 10.45 at night and no torch to hand to find the fusebox and fiddle with it and blimey the dual horn is loud!

I've phoned HUK who have suggested it might be linked with the alarm, but the alarm itself did not go off - no flashing indicators or siren etc. I have a GT so it's a CAT1 alarm.

I've booked it into my local Honda for a check over Tuesday, they will do a diagnostic check so I assume the cost of all of this is covered under warranty?

Do you think this could be linked to the fusebox recall, even though we've had plenty of rain since I had it fitted in January? Or could it be something like a corroded cable or something dodgy at the steering wheel end?

Any help or advice would be great.

The only way for the horn to sound without havin ganything to do witht the alarm is if the circuit is made.
The only circuit switch is the sterring wheel.
So try giving that a good whack ;) in case its stuck somehow.

Unfortunately that does not explain how it would go off all by itself.
Othet then poltergeists.....Id say it was the alarm faulty/shorting with water.

My horn started sounding today about 30 mins after I cleaned it. I couldn't understand why, so I jumped up checked the car out and then switched the horn/alarm off.
What I didn't realise was that I had not shut the boot properly and the car doors wouldn't lock.

So once I shut the boot it was fine. But I never knew about the alarm to warn you that you haven't shut the door properly ! ( quite clever really)
