How long to become a supporter?

I've been lurking here for a few days, as I've only just picked up my mk8 Civic - but I've found so much useful information here that I decided to fork out for a Supporter membership.
The supporter FAQ page says that the upgrade should happen straight away, but it hasn't yet even though the transaction is successfully showing on my PayPal account.

Is there something special or magic that I need to do (do I need to learn the secret handshake first?), or do I just need to learn to be more patient?

Thanks for sending a message - like Ray_S, I can't send PMs yet. Rest assured that if I haven't heard anything by the time I can send PMs, I'll start chasing it up myself.

Waiting for months for something that I paid for (regardless of how low that amount might be) is not a reasonable expectation.

I think the issue is that they've not updated the postback url to https yet... PayPal announced updates months ago requiring all postback url's to be https. (Postback is what auto updates the accounts.) See https://www.paypal.com/sg/webapps/mpp/ipn-verification-https

Hey guys,

If you made a payment to upgrade your subscription and it has not reflected on your profile here yet, we can get this corrected for you. Can you provide me with the following info:

1. Your Paypal email address.
2. Date of Payment
3. Amount of payment
4. Transaction ID # of payment (which can be found in your PAYPAL receipt of the payment in question).

Send us a PM. Do NOT NOT NOT post the information here.

@Civ_Admin

At least one of them doesn't have enough membership time and/or posts to perform a PM.

They need 2 weeks membership and 20 posts. The reason for this restriction was to stop the drive-by people trying to trade behind the scenes before they were considered true members. We saw a spate of them so we acted.

Back to you .....

We now have a list of errors, some serious, and all the attention they are getting is to be put on a tech list till god knows when.

We, the Mod team, have tried our best time after time but they are beating us into submission.

It's been annoying, frustrating, heartbreaking to a degree to see the site descend into chaos and have so many ongoing errors and we are powerless to act.

Your account has been upgraded. Our IPN settings on Paypal were disabled, we're asking Paypal why. They've been reenabled in the mean time and accounts are being corrected. If your account has not been corrected in the next 48 hours while IPN syncs back up please report it here.
