Hi

On the lookout for a Civic for my partner. I bought myself a Alfa Romeo GT blackline 1.9 diesel last year (first diesel I have owned) and I am so impressed with it that I am looking at the Diesel engine in the Civic.

Specifically I am looking at a 2007-2008 2.2 CDTi EX

Are there any arguments against this over the other variants, and are there any issues I should be on the lookout for when buying one.

Cheers

Good thing about being from Swindon is I should have plenty to chose from pretty locally :)
2010 would be too pricey unfortunately but thanks anyway

Hi and welcome mate :) 2.2's are great motors, but are prone to clutch issues so that's the main thing to look out for (slipping). Other than that, the EGR valve gets clogged up over time like many diesels. Then of course there the standard issues shared with all Civics, mainly stuff you would find by a thorough inspection which you should always do before buying any car :)
