Hi Guys,
I have the base level 2013 UK Honda 1.4 Honda Civic S. As you all know this model did not come with many extras.
I have been offered an official Honda Sat Nav Unit type 9953838 which came from a higher specd 9th gen Civic for a reasonable price. Would installation be pretty straight forward or are these units coded to prevent swapping between vehicles? Would I be required to install software or need any special tools? Also anything else you feel I should be aware of would be very helpful. Thanks in advance, as you can see i'm a complete novice. Pedro.

It is not worth the effort as the GPS antenna for the factory sat nav is under the plastic cover (above the rear view mirror) in those models so equipped. You may as well get a 2 DIN fascia kit and go aftermarket. Connects2 make a good all-in-one kit including antenna adapter, steering wheel control interface and an interface cable depending on the brand of deck you are buying (kenwood , pioneer etc).
