So I recently went on holiday for a month. Came back, and my Civic battery was dead. I replaced the battery with a new one and all was well, until I saw the dials.

I have double (and triple) checked my battery connections to ensure they are secured properly, however, unable to determine why the following is occuring. Any ideas?

Looks like maybe some ground problem or faulty tacho. If tacho faulty you can use 2nd hand one and replace it withou problem. Before anything if someone near you has same 1.8 try swapping tacho to see if it will be same. If his tacho is ok. Then you'll know what problem is. Tacho only stores miles and has canbus reciver. Other data is getting from MICU and engine ECU.

Tacho has rewrite chip on it so it needs honda HDS to connect on your car and copy all data which will be put on new (2nd hand) tacho.
