Is there anyway that we can make a insurance look up table that civinfo users can enter their info into? Alot of the comparison sites dont do specialised insurance companies that might work out cheaper.

Information like age,NCB,price, Excess, price etc you know the usual

My insurance is due in 2 months time and i have started looking and the prices dont look too good on the comparison sites!

Thanks!

TBH when I was paying my car insurance, price didn't really come into it, I was more concerned with service, i.e how easy and hassle free is it to make a claim.

Now my insurance is free but Motability use the same company I used to, More Than.

Agree - My GF used a cheaper company than me and when she had a bump they did nothing - she had to chase everything and then they said 'knock for knock' no chance but it was another 3 months before it was sorted.

As for me paid an extra £30 and the insurance did everything, from organising a hire car to getting the car repaired and then sending me a cheque for my excess within 1 month of the bump - well done Esure ;) (oh they other party was saying it wasn't there fault)

Goes without saying really. Price if the first thing you look at though isnt it?? Then its if you get a courtesy car, what excess, legal expenses etc etc.

You dont know how good an insurance company are until you ahve to use them for a claim, so does that mean that you would never go through a company you have never heard of someone claiming with before??

I find it's better to ring these companies rather than use comparison websites. You're more likely to negotiate a discount over the phone especially if you have info that the comparison sites aren't interested in.

For example no tick box for advanced driving qualifications on any site I've been on, granted it doesn't get me massive discount and some companies aren't interested but if you don't/can't ask you don't get!
