Hi.

Im thinking of having the following done at TDI.

HKS RSK fitted,
FastRoadSetup,
Eibachs..,
Flashpro Hondata + Rolling road tune,
Hks exhaust.

My insurance company have said that i need to get in touch with Honda to get them to confirm that these mods are safe on my car. Then pass the info to them for insurance increase quotes..

Just wondered if anybody else has had to do this or is there a better way around getting insured?

Can i just send the TDI worksheet to my insurance?

Many Thanks for any help given.

Fast Road Setup is just wheel geometry so no need to declare that, you're better off finding a specialist to quote you, check the insurance section there are some insurers on here that can give you quotes :)

All seems like standard stuff pal and maybe your insurance is just trying to make it hard for you
I agree. I'd look elsewhere for a specialist insurance company who understand which mods you have and can quote accordingly.

If you are mid term and don't want to cancel your policy it might be better to wait until renewal time to get the work done.

I have found on my past cars and those of friends who have recently had their cars modified, that the existing Insurance is pretty well O.K. additional cost wise.
It's at renewal time that it's shop around time.

Try sky insurance as well, just say you are a member of the type R forum
+1

sky insurance used to cover my ep3 with 247bhp for £690 - will depend on area and age/no claims etc but that was the cheapest i found by far...

Chris Knott will only insure a type r at the age of 30 of higher.

Greenlight came out a whopping £1200 cheaper then direct line for me, greenlight even included all my mods, and direct line didnt.

Im 22 no points, and full no claims since passing my test, with 240bhp = £1300.... not bad.

Also I added the mugen spoiler and carbon fiber bonnet to my policy and they charged me.....£0

On that basis, Greenlight FTW

Adrian Flux are always good for modified cars
They are OK for me with mods, they just don't like import cars.

They wanted £2,200 (cheapest policy they could offer) if I changed to an FD2 when I rang them two days ago.

Will be sticking with the FN2 until renewal time, then I'm in for some long phone conversations I expect!

yep i'm still with them. my cheapest quote this time round was £745 on confused with admiral. my renewal came through with sky at the same price and i rang them they managed to do it for £710. I'd jump at the chance of paying just £600

I am not with sky as I am only 22 and am too young, but they have a very good reputation on performance forums.

I think having your insurance double because of mods seems a bit excessive but maybe someone else can help you.
