my mechanic takes out ONLY the cooling plate on top and nothing else.

Yea Chris,

As other have said no need for the half of this, I only removed my bumper at the time to fit the scoopin, but for the RRC and TB the cooling plate and intake hose is it, all the rest can be got at handy enough with the right tools :)

Pain in the arse mind

Funny enough, this is actually our video done on my FN2 here in Australia :) We put the videos together as a sort of build diary to look back on.

Just funny to see it being brought up and discussed after all this time.

I hope you don't mind.

I for one was very impressed.

So what if you undo a few extra bolts, as long as you minimise faffing about time, it's all good........ he says with his next to nothing knowledge

Yeah I don't mind at all :D Its just amazing how far things reach out to people when they go looking which is why I don't mind. The video was more or less just put together so we could look back on how much work was involved replacing the manifold.

And re: with removing what looks unnecessary, there's a few annoying bolts under the manifold that we knew of in advanced and to save us time in the long run we just wanted to make it easier on ourselves. You could get away without touching the radiator but its a tight squeeze - my girlfriend mechanic could easily do it but me....not so much lol.

Hey thanks! I used this when fitting my Hondata gasket.

I was going to do the RRC and TB myself but I left that to TDI north as I didn't have the patience to do it again.

Good vid though.
