So after over 5 years it was time to sell the
Civic.
I was going to sell it privately, but a dealer made me a good offer so in the interest of a quick, easy and safe transaction I let them buy it.
It was a 2007 1,8 Executive (that is a Swedish spec level which means
FK2 with glass roof, sat-nav and HIDs).
As dealer options it was debadged and had parking sensors, blue ambient lighting, travel pack, floor mats and winter tires on 16" alloys.
It wasn't really modded other than blue interior LEDs, LED parking lights, Osram Night Breakers, fog light covers and a Civinfo sticker.
I saw almost 50% of the purchase price back as resell value after 5 years even with a new model out, which I though was good when selling to a dealer.
In it's five years it covered just over 42 000 km (26 000 miles), but lately it was just sitting on the drive watching me either take the Volvo or the MX-5, so it made no sense keeping it around any more. In fact, between the last two services it covered 1 600 km (1 000 miles).
Apart from servicing I had three dealer visits during this time:
1) Hand brake recall
2) Drivers outside door handle broke
3) Outside temperature sensor broke
The only real disappointment with the car for me was the soft paint with chips, scratches and swirls all over.
I'm sad to see it go, but a car should be driven, so it's better to let someone else take over.
But - don't get your hopes up!
I'll still be around here keeping an eye on all of you.
A few pics from it's last days with me:
