Can't find anything recent (after say august last year) about the 1.5 - road tests, announcements etc. Hav'nt enquired at any dealers but the Honda website lists them.

Wonder if any uk mags/road testers are interested or will it just find its way through a 'side door' with barely a mention:serious: Don't recall ever seeing anything about the previous gen. jazz si (1.3 engine but with body kit)

Maybe a test drive? Interested in the feedback and comments to come !

New retail price for the cvt a bit steep at around the 18k mark. Maybe one of the online discounting sites will be able to get a couple of grand off or for me, wait for the ex demo's to be offered.

EX demo can save around £3k plus all Honda demos come as standard with a 5 year service plan worth around £600 as well plus the first year road tax levy was paid by the dealer not you. I hear Mansfield have the new Jazz demo but not sure on the engine, what I will say is I have drove the older 1.4 Jazz and they soon got going but the last time the FK2 went in I had a new Jazz and it was gutless. It did go well once moving but really needed winding up and when I checked the engine was very shock to find it was a 1.3 as I was convinced it was a 1.0L

Good news and bad news.......possibly the 1.5 will address the engine performance issues. Like the sound of the possible ex demo deals. Roll on back end of this year when (moneywise) should be in the market, test drive pending.

Yeah I suspect the 1.5 will sort the drive out as this has around 25% more power if I am right. Dont get me wrong the 1.3 went well and cruised fine on the motorway but it was like it just did not want to rev / get up and go which was very unlike a Honda engine

Honesty they missed a good chance to really get the Jazz some get up and go.

It would've shined with the 1.0 3 pot turbo. Having driven the new Jazz with the CVT its the transmission is terribly geared software wise and is literally gutless due to the throttle response its programmed with.

I was constantly driving it in sport mode to get the thing to get up and go!

I agree the 1.0 turbo engine would transform the car. Although I can't help wondering how interesting the car would be if they left the turbo attached to the 1.5 engine they are going to use.:grin2:

I had the same experience, I had the new Honda jazz as courtesy car and I felt the car was very sluggish. my wife 63 reg Honda jazz was more responsive, easily rev up and go.

Its would be a fun car with the 1.5 litre turbo engine with upgraded suspension and brakes.

That's just wrong and got to be disappointing for anyone with expectations associated with a Honda motor. Sounds similar to what Honda did with their 'bikes leaving behind their frenetic rev happy motors from the '60's to the 70's 'nice people ride a Honda' almost mundane engine characteristics. Probably driven by the american market.

The 9G Civic is the max size my garage will comfortably take. The 10G is just too big.

The Jazz has a far better footprint for what I need now but it does need improving to make it a nicer drive than the slightly underpowered noisy current CVT.

My earliest change would be March 2019.

The JAZZ has 3 trims I think...

S, SE and EX.

The S probably has black mirror / wheel trims.. I've never looked.

The SE is good mid spec, but poor alloys

The EX has cool stuff.. lane departure warning, auto wipers, bigger wheels, reversing camera... not sure what the SE doesn't have, but we have the EX.

The new 1.5 will be a new trim, the SPORT. It will be SE based, but with a bodykit and the bigger engine.

I don't think we want to downgrade the spec, for the bigger engine. Shame they're not doing the top spec model, with the top spec engine.

As posted elsewhere, Honda are no longer producing what people really want.

Do me a 1.5 Jazz with a ZF auto gearbox and an interesting raised centre console (ala Civic) and I'll look closer.

Mines in for while you wait service end of Feb. Wonder if they will have a showroom 1.5 by then.

If not then Feb 2019 as I'm in no rush.

In preparation of being bombarded with sales whilst I'm waiting for my service on Tuesday I've been doing some homework.

Especially as I've had a letter, 2 texts and 3 emails regarding a 'sales event'.

What a shame the 1.5 Jazz is based on the SE spec with no:

Climate Control (just manual aircon)
Privacy Glass
Rear Camera

Probably other missing stuff over the EX.

= not interested which is a shame.

Wonder if there ever will be a 1.5 EX Navi ?

Very Surprised no climate control, although recollecting our 1 series BMW with its manual aircon actually worked very well set on a low/min setting during long journeys. Privacy glass and rear camara could both be retro fitted, but yes at the asking price, Honda again seem to have succeeded yet again with their knack of frustrating potential customers.

Maybe a test drive could sway opinions as the above are do-able, perhaps with our ex's and exgt's we've set the bar high. Yes the ex trim with the 1.5 might prove a solution. At what price as the sport navi retail is approaching 19k is a question that comes to mind, but then discover for example a Fiesta top of the range is also in a similar ball park figure.

I was offered privacy glass on my 59 plate 8G but when I queried it they would have called in a company to put film on it.

Removed the door cards and removed the glass to get the film on better. No thanks, let's leave the doors as constructed at the factory.
