It's time to create myself a progress thread in the styling section :-D :cool:

* * * * * * * * * So, here it goes: * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This is where I came from: A standard nighthawk black 5-door 2.2 i-ctdi from 2007 with 32000km's (about 20000 miles), got it from August 2009.

First things I've put on the car where the Type S rims (I preferred their look above the standard 5-door 17" alloys), the sport gear knob and of course... the Civinfo stickers (I have no dyno runs, but I can assure you guys I've felt lots of bhp improvement :razz:)!

More pictures (and in full resolution) can be found here...
Thanks for viewing!

In the meanwhile...

The bodykit is almost a fact... I've ordered the parts today (cost me almost an arm and a leg :(), the dealer said he should have them already tomorrow morning!! :) :)
So I'm going to put everything on tomorrow or the day after! :D :D :D Can't wait! :dancing2:

The things I've ordered: type-:typer: sideskirts, wheel arches and the front and rear grand prix pack... :cool:

In the meanwhile also some pictures of the little mod's which happened so far....: (took my time today to take some more pics... :p )

* 8000K hid's for the main beams
* Led 360 degree sidelights
* 5000K halogen bulbs in the fog lights
* Ultra white interior led's
* Ultra white license plate led's
* 'Civic' Brake light cover
* Red footwell lights (come on with interior lights)

.

8000K xenon (Doesn't look anything like this blue in real life; they really give a beautiful, distinguished white light with a little hint of blue)!

They do look something like this (little adaption with photoshop) :p

.

White interior led's (front+rear)

.

White license plate led's

.

Red footwell lights (they come on when opening the doors,... and then dim/fade out after a few seconds)

Very nice.
BUT
You need a 'Sport, or 'Type R' Grill

Hell no! ;) :facepalm: Don't wannabe another brick in the wall! I like the perspex grille very much and it definitely separates the Civic from other cars! :cool: :police:

N.B.: If it was a 3-door car, the Type R grille (with red "H") would also look awesome (don't like the sports grille with the chrome H... looks cheap and crappy IMO :p But don't want to offend others who don't share my opinion), but on a 5-door the perspex looks the best!!

Pff... Still waiting for the grand prix pack to come in. All of the rest is with my dealer (side skirts, wheel arches, exhaust triangles), but now there seems to be a small problem with the GP pack... :???:

It isn't anymore available in NHB, only in Crystal Black... :-( So once again it's going to get even more expensive! Now I still have to got the GP pack painted...

I've read some threads about the colour difference... (here and here)

My painter advised me to wait and see... He said the colour difference probably wouldn't be really noticable... What do you guys think?? I've also read something about CB being more sensitive to stone chipping... Is this correct?

Last friday at my local dealer:

Dealer called me to say that all items have arrived... :smile:

But... the front- and rear grand prix splitters were the wrong ones (type S instead of type R; so they were not completely painted...).

Anyway, everything turned out fine (even better actually), because the dealer spoke to Honda (again; it seems to be that the part numbers are really confusing) and now it seems that the splitters which I need do still seem to be available in NHB. So they don't need painting after all, which I'm very glad of!! :-D

Normally the last item will arrive tomorrow... :-D :cool:

Is that an official Honda gearknob upgrade? if so? how much are they?
Yes it is, and I'm very pleased about it. I really disliked the standard gearknob :facepalm: (totally doesn't fit the interior of the car IMO), contrary to this one which seems to be perfectly made for the Civic! :-D

It cost (over here in Belgium) about 100€ (which will be something like £87 if i'm right?). It's way more expensive than an aftermarket gearknob, but you also get what you pay for! :cool:

Ok, the Grand Prix front+rear is at the dealer, but I'm still waiting to the base of one of the exhaust triangles (it came in last week, but there was a little piece broken off; so they had to order a new one). Bad news is, that this little item is in backorder and planned for the 18th of May... [smilie=smack.gif]

So until then, I still can't start on upgrading the car... :-( You'll earn a lot of patience with a hobby like this one!! :-?

looks good but grand prix pack looks better with silver or red paint.
First, I was thinking of painting the inserts in a graphite sort of colour (to get more contrast), but I'm certainly not going to do this anymore. I really like the dangerous, but also sophisticated look of the black-on-black grand prix pack :p :cool:

But I get what you're saying, I also like the contrast of the black splitters on milano or alabaster very much. :)

Jeremiah good job mate.It certainly looks fantastic!!Do you know if grand prix fits on 5dr civic '09 1.4?
Thanks mate, but it doesn't fit completely ;) Not on my car and not on yours. :p There are some little adjustments to be made on the rear of the sideskirts and the rear wheel arches... More info on this can be found here and here. ;) :cool:

That turned out really well :thumbsup: I love the front and rear splitters, I think they look very classy with the NHB. :cool:

Maybe a rear image pack spoiler would complete the transformation. ;)

Thanks for the positive comment :)

I was in doubt between the new image pack spoiler or the type R one from Deltastyling... But I think I'm just going to leave it alone, it also looks great without spoiler IMO... I really like the little "bump upwards" in the middle of the rear perspex spoiler (if you know what I mean) :p :cool:

yeah i like! :D

I would love the image pack rear splitter with the exhaust/reflector part painted black. theyre just so pricey though. :(

so what are you doing about the sideskirts at the back? a bit of rubber?
I'm going to fill them up (also on the sideskirts) with some black silicone (convenient on a black car ;))... :)

And underneath (because the arches also give a gap on the bottom) I'll use some rubber to avoid mud and dirt getting thrown up by the wheels between the arch and the car...

But these things still have to be done somewhere this or next week... Didn't had any more time this weekend... :p

help wanted!

Hey everybody, I'm playing with some thoughts... Could you guys help me out?

First of all, should I tint my windows? I don't like the look of tinted windows on a 5-door Civic, but with the grand prix pack on it it may look good after all...

Secondly: Which alloys should I go for? I really like the look of 19" rages, but I will go definitely for 18" rims (better handling, cheaper tyres+tyre wear & softer road feel)... I quite like the looks of the Delta and Thunder alloys from Honda... The Thunder alloys look a bit like the rages, but on the other hand, the Delta ones look quite special and more unique... :cool:

I made some photoshops (see pictures below)... If anybody has a good idea for other alloys/ other ideas/ ... please let me know!
(1) Standard car ; (2) Tinted rear windows; (3) 19" rages ; (4) 18" Thunder ; (5) 18" Delta

So.. Tints: 2 people say yes, 2 people say no :)

And for the rims:
Rages: 1 vote (i also really like them but I'm not going to go for 19 as stated in original post)
Thunders: 1 vote
Delta: 2 votes (I also think that these will stand out a bit more than the tunders in trafic... :) )

I need more opinions people, please!! :-D :p

Concerning the alloys, they will be for next summer! I hope I can drive till winter with my current tyres :), so then I can put winter tyres on the 17" Type S rims...

And then next summer I'm going for the Thunders probably :D :cool: (resemble rages the most; which I like best; but I want to go for 18")...

But back on thread: Another (little) update: Gers red H wheel cap covers! :police:

Fitted them on the caps using Gers great instructions, was quite easy with a bit of water and soap... :popcorn2:

Pictures (pics of them on the car will follow tomorrow): ;)
