I'm about to change the standard bulbs on mine too. They are way to yellowish, so I will get some white(r) ones from JP.* Yeah, looks familiar, doesn't it? It's in SunCourts (oops, used Google Translator!) ;-)
* Thanks for the compliment.. I also like it best now, without the right-in-your face H7 blinding 8000K aftermarket blueish xenons... The H7R 6000K bulbs look awesome. Pure white!
Because TypeS is a registered trademark in civic-terms. It stands for "3-door version of the 8th gen civic." And yours isn't.* I wanted to put a "Sport" sticker on it first... I photoshopped some things, tried several fonts, decals,... but it just didn't look right...
Now, my car has exactly the same engine, interior, exterior (except for 2 doors more, the whole S/R sideskirts, wheel arches,... are on the car), etc... as the "real" type S, so I see no shame in labelling it that way... ;-)
So, why can I label it as a "Type D(iesel)", but not as a "Type S(port)"? (because it's the Sport model) That just doesn't make any sense... ;-)
No you aren't, allright. But it's confusing the germans... :-DFurthermore, the Type S brand is not being honoured by Honda in this line of Civics, as even the 1.4 litre is currently available as a Type S... So it's not that I'm giving the impression that the car is having more power then it actually has...
Oh, now that you mention it: that's a disgrace! You're so close to putting a Ferrari sticker on the boot lid....I personally would've thought you'd care more about those "Brembo" decals on the calipers, but those are not for creating the suggesting of having big brake calipers, but just to "break" the red caliper a bit... It just felt "too red" without a decal (and I didn't find any 'TRW' or 'Nissin' or 'Ferodo' (brake pads I'm currently using) on the net)... olice:
Yes, and to be more specific, they are...New alloys
Indeed they are ;-)delta alloys
Yess, that would look awesome, but that is just trying too hard... ;-) I'm not trying to give the impression of having big brake calipers, it's just that I wanted to have something written on the red calipers. "Honda" didn't suit, "Type S" was already on the decals, "Nissin" nor "TRW" could be found on the net, so it became "Brembo"... Love it or hate it!i know a bloke with an amg c class merc that has the brembo covers off ebay on it, i didnt even realise they were covers until he told me! i know its wrong but his car is on 19's and it looks right if you know what i mean?
Well, my car has also 3 doors... ;-)Because TypeS is a registered trademark in civic-terms. It stands for "3-door version of the 8th gen civic." And yours isn't.
*lol*Well, my car has also 3 doors... ;-)
It even has 2 doors more! :-D So, I could label it as a "Type S Plus" ;-)
Reminds me of last friday, when I was driving with the missus' car to a party with some friends. One of them was looking for the rear door handle, walk around the back of the car, then back to the door... "This is a 5 door, is't it?" he asked. I said "Yes, but tbh no one has ever used the 5th one to get in..."
Great alloys BTW. Aren't these normally for an accord? I know for sure I've seen them on an accord before
Yeah, I was always sure that I was going to put -25mm Eibachs under the car, but I'm not so sure anymore...really nice buddy lower her for an even better stance imo
I notice no difference between my previous 17" and current 18" in hardness... There may be some difference, but that will really be minimal then...It looks great with new wheels. How hard is the ride on 18" wheels ?
TBH, I'm way past being interested in the aftermarket alloys scene, but i must say those look great.
One of the very few sets of alloys i've seen on here, which actually improve the look of the car from standard. [smilie=thatworks.g:[/quote]
I didn't want alloys that screamed aftermarket too, that's why I went with official Honda accessories alloys :-D I think they still give a mature and smooth OEM look (not ricer or scream-in-your-face-look), but really set the car off!
Thanks, Koen! Those headlights are my 8000K (I couldn't believe it either, because they actually look like 5000 or 6000K) H7R hid's from HIDS4U. I've combined them with Mr JP's 6500K halogen fogs for a really incredible lookI've just seen the car in the flesh, and those wheels do look even better irl. Best I've seen for a civic so far, certainly for a black one.
Jeremiah, I forgot to ask: your headlights, are they "regular" halogen, or are they HID? They look great, very white indeed without being to coloured (blue-purple-...)
Threw my Pilot 8000K hid's out of the car, together with my 12000K foglights... Problem was they both were way too bright (too much glare) and they both had too much of a blue hue to them... I was kind of bored with the straight-in-your-face aftermarket (ricer) look of those 8000K and 12000K hids...
So I refitted my 6000K H7R hid's (from HIDS4U) again, together with Mr JP's 6500K Halogen fog light bulbs (H11). Now my car has a great OEM+ look
Gives a nice white light, without too much glare and a really great beam patter too (HID), and the less yellow H11 fogs do blend in nicely with the main beams now...
Gives just a more mature, stock hid look :-D
A picture of the current setup (sorry for the bad phone quality)...
