I am looking to install one of these kits, more for the roar than any potential power gains(although a tiny bit more power would be nice). I have searched and read all the nay sayers info on why i shouldn't do the kit, so i would appreciate only positive info or info from people that actually have one fitted(or had one and removed it)

Thanks in advance

Well after all i have been able to find online, this seems to be the most reasonably priced "induction" kit of all available for the 1.8 engine........so i contacted the local distributor and they don't keep stock....not sure why not but well yeah, their excuse is that it is not popular so they do not keep it.....so the soonest will be approximately three weeks.....unless i can find an alternative to using the locals....

If anyone can help i will be willing to pay a little more :D

I have 57i too, install was easy, sounds a lot better and you won't change the OEM filter every year!

I bought it from e-bay, costs 80 pounds!!!

I didn't feel any gain, if somebody yes, i think it would be a placebo effect, because you can't feel +2-3HP...the throttle response a little bit better!

Now comes the hard part of trying to source one of the kits in South Africa....local agents do not have in stock as it is not a popular part, and quote 2-3 weeks delivery by air freight(i am figuring it is going to be on the back of a bird of some sort, as this seems an extremely long time for it to travel between USA and SA) but realistically it will probably be 4-6 weeks :(

Always the way when you get and itch you need to scratch, it is out of reach.....

Well, I'm still waiting for mine - ordered on the 21st. May (from the UK distributor) - that's over 1 month ! ...

Similar situation with my SatNav 3.52 disk(s) from NavTeq - ordered 18th. June - they were in stock - no sign, despite a promised 2 days delivery - and according to FedEx tracking, it's still stuck at Oslo airport Customs control ...

Norwegian Customs at Gardemoen (Oslo) Airport seem to hate me ! ...

I've had stuff lying "for inspection" or "incorrect paperwork" for up to 2 weeks ...

And, a good third of all my packages get opened and checked and resealed with Customs tape ...

Checked my eMail - I was told on the 13th. June, that it was being despatched that day - 2 weeks later, and still no sign ! ...

Yesterday evening, I sent the supplier another eMail, telling them I still don't have it - they can't track it down, so they now say they'll send another, for delivery in 2 \ 3 days time - I'll believe it, when I see it ! ...

p.s. - at least I got the SatNav 3.52 update from NavTeq today (already installed) ! ...

Mine is still in the carton - if you take the parts out, they take up the same space as a pair of boots, and weigh much less …

i had the k& 57i installed and was not impressed. have since removed it. there are no gains and the difference in noise is imo negligible. i also experienced flat spots.

in the end i got an invidia cat back exhaust system and have to say its the only way to go for a real grunt and power gains.

Not sure why you did not get any change in noise, i have simply removed the pipe between the stock airbox and the stock piping and i have had a HUGE change....

Am organising with my mate and should have it late this week if all goes well, hopefully the dealer can assist with stock before Thursday
