Any body got any suggestion about the right way to do this! Its in my R about 5 months and im sure it could do with a clean !! Any ideas
Buy a K&N cleaning kit.

As above, really easy to do. spray on the cleaning solution, wash it off, then let it dry over night then coat it in the special oil supplied and Voi La easy as that.

I thought it doesn't need cleaning until about 50k miles?
Perhaps that's what is claimed, but they DO get dirty quickly - better to practice 'preventive maitenance' on such things, and establish a more frequest cleaning routine ...

I cleaned mine last week and was shocked how much came out of the cone, for the sake of £10 its worth doing plus in 2000 miles your get it back in better mpg anyway
