From the US!

KMOD - KMOD K24 Crate Engines - Greensboro, NC

I just dont know enough about it to know if its any good or if it would even work with the gearbox, ECU etc.. thats in the FN2
Swap to rrc and dbw throttle body and all the other sensors probably.. A big one like the s2 black. Also I think the deck height on the k24 is taller so the exhaust manifold needs modded or the engine mounts.or you could put in a cable pedal and run kpro
Hey Dave, dont you already have over 240 bhp, 5K for 40 bhp ?

for 5k its got to be a turbo giving 360 before the forging, dont u think ?
Arrr didnt see the wheel hp bit, what will that be at the fly 320 ?
I say:

To agressive for daily drive and that +9500rpm limit is a bit optimistic for reliability!!

Depends on the dyno Terry! Prior to getting the J's Manifold I had 239 on TDI North's rollers. On Sumopowers I had 200 at the wheels and on Eurospec's I had 227 at the fly after the manifold. What I lack is torque though and I think those K24's have bags of torque
build your one engine,it's more fun.!!
I struggle with lego, no way should I go near something as complicated as an engine!
5k jesus! then fitting and tuning and all the extra ancillaries, replace your ep3 with a caterham or something for when you feel the need....

Had a look at an S2K last weekend, that was £6K maybe your right and I should just get something else to play in on a weekend!

not you, you've got many good engine builders over there!

why to send your money to US and what if something goes wrong and there is a fault? you can't send it back!

I've not really looked at any engine builders in the UK. I was initially browsing for a replacement engine for my EP and came across those K24's. I dont think its a very popular option in the UK, more people seem to be doing it in the UK though.

You've got a good point about faults though - would be a right pain if something went wrong!
ask Colin ;)
Looks good David, but very expensive, you can get fully built, forged K24 blocks with your choice of pistons, rods etc etc for 2.5k from the states (plus import tax although they said they'd mark it to half that to save on tax)

Speak to Ian at Clockwise Motion David, or indeed Henry Roy up here, he builds engines like nothing I've ever seen, guy built his own dyno too actually lol
Like I said speak to Colin dave. He has a load of info on clockwise lumps.
2 words......... clockwise motion!

Great company right there!!!

Just had a K20Z4 block sleeved there, Ian is a top guy and very professional.

The thing is, Ian like to work with parts they "know", wich are Cosworth parts.... even tho you end up with top parts, thay are extremely expencive, specialy when it comes to custom parts.

Im trying to actualy convince Iam to assemble the motor for me, with the stroker kit i got from the US, and its proven to be hard.... lol.... will keep trying as they are a very good company and I have 100% trust in them.

Drop them a email and see what they say... Tell Ian "nightmare" Paulo from Portugal sent you... lol...!!!

If you are realy wanting to go for a K24, i'de say to just buy the botom, as you have the best K series Head designed by Honda on your K20Z4, so just use that.... You have lots of options for all prices ranges.

A Stock Sleeve, 87.5 Bore with 12.5 CR its a very good and "cheap" option that will give very good power with the right cams and also a very reliable daily drive engine.

Hope this helps.
