Sorry if this is in an faq but Im on my phone. My spare key seems to have a flat battery, is this a Honda job or can i fit it? What battery is it?

Its quite an easy job to change the battery, but you will need a small phillips screwdriver to the remove the small screw that holds the case together. The battery is a CR1616.

You'll need a CR1616 battery & a Number 00. Phillips Miniature screwdriver to remove the tiny grubscrew in the key case.

Such things are usually much cheaper on Ebay than main dealer.

Might as well buy two to save on the postage and for the spare key..

Do these not charge in the ignition ?
Might be an idea to drive around with that key in the igntion for a day or two and see if it charges if so ?

I dont think the battery is charged from the car. As far as I know the batteries are not rechargeable and I cant see any way contact on the key.

I thought some of them used induction charging.
If the original batteries are non rechargable then I assume not.

Unfortunately no recharging on these, unlike in some other cars!
