Just been for mot and have failed it due to
Trailing arm rubber bush bonding deteriorated resulting in excessive movement offside rear axle and near side.
I was told that you can't replace the bushes so as I result have to replace whole rear axle is this true?

Already on a 9th gen? - how many miles have you covered?

Some said the same thing about the 8th gen bushes/axle, is complete tosh as replacement bushes are available. I have replaced mine.

Did they really change the design so drastically on the 9th gen?

Have just done a quick eBay search but the only entry that looked close didn't have convincing content that it was truly compatible with the 9th gen :(
