Hi folks,

I just got asked this question by a colleague at work. It's not strictly Civic related, but you'll see the relevance...

He's looking to fit a sounder to something (I don't know what), and rather than a harsh buzzer or beeper, he wants something that sounds like the gentle "ping ping ping" you often get from the "lights on" alarm on cars.

So, does anyone know whether such a device is available "stand alone", or is it a case of finding some way of synthesising a suitable sound and playing it back through a speaker. How does the Civic do it?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the civic uses a small speaker and synthesised sounds for key-in-ignition, lights on, seatbelt not fastened etc - they all seem to come from the same source. I'm not sure on the type of system or circuitry involved though, I'm afraid.
