I have another thread explaining about the problem i am having with my Honda civic 2.2 cdti diesel, but this is really a general question. When my car starts it comes up with the "check engine light" and automatically goes into limp mode but then as soon as the car warms us (around 30 mins) it drives like a dream again but still has the "check engine light" on. Is this normal and if not why would my car come out of limp mode? also i have just checked my oil and it seems to be quite high (just over the max) could this cause the "check engine light" to come on? Has this kind of thing happened to anyone else?

Overfilled oil is not a good thing but unlikely to be the cause. The symptoms you describe are definitely not normal and I'd get a dealer to check it out asap.

Thanks for the reply! It drives absolutely fine though so i suspect it may just be a fault with the ECU????
