Hi, im looking to lower my Type s 2.2, but have some questions about ride height. If anyone could help with these would be great

Is the CTR lower from factory than the CTS? if so how much?

Does it make any difference when buying springs wether its a Diesel rather than petrol?

What is a good drop for a CTS 2.2 without having any rubbing problems etc but that closes the arch gap up nicely?

Also if anyone has pictures of there CTS lowered and could state what springs and what drop you have would be sooo helpful

Thanks

I believe the CTR is lowered more than the CTS but not 100% sure. You should always buy the right springs meaning springs for petrol are made especially for petrol engines and the same with Diesel.
It also has something to do with the weight of the car:) Diesel engines tend to weigh more than petrol engines.

Hello, the type r is 15mm lower than type s,i've got eibach springs that lowers the car by 25mm with no rubbing issues,a bit stiff over the speed bumps but overall a very good ride. Aaaa and yes the diesel springs are different from the petrol because they have to be able to deal with the weight.

Thanks for your info and help guys. Il definetly make sure i get some for a diesel then, didnt realise, altho it does seem to be a bit harder to find for the diesel, il keep searching lol. As im going for just the springs may go with the 25mm drop,
lucian do you have any picture you could post please, would really like to see how it looks at this high, thanks

Hmm don't know what to say,it does seem a bit lower than mine. Like i said im my original post i've only got the springs fitted, shocks are still standard.Handling wise is ok but i think that the standard type r is better,it's probably the heavier engine that makes the difference.
I must say i have never been a fan of the 5door but yours looks quite cool.

I got the spoiler from TDI North a while back. It cost £80 but it cost me that again to get it resprayed as you dont see 'R's in Galaxy gray.

I think with the ebay ones you take your chances, some are good and some aren't.
Try a breakers first though, see how much propper Honda ones are 2nd hand.

Yeah i have noticed a big difference with handling in the civic, iv only had the car a month an had a peugeot 207 gt before that i slammed and the handling was great, thats why this needs lowering, maybe some sort of strut brace or something too will help.

£80 is good, il have to try them, yeah bit wary of ebay when it comes to things like this

Even with the eibachs when you push it a bit hard it tends to understeer, alot more than the type r,but hey you can't have everything handling and economy :)
Yeah i've noticed it too.

But it doesn't feel like i'm on a boat anymore with the rocking and body roll.
Have notice on country lanes i can stick to the corners a lot easier faster.
