Hi everyone, I'm after advice.
My 10G 1.5 diesel SR has started making a rumbling, growly noise from the engine, specifically from the rear.
It's sporadic but annoying and I'll be taking it back in to the dealers, but it only had its first service last week and nothing was mentioned.
Has anyone any idea what this could be?
I'm trying to include a picture, but I don't see how to in my thread.

Thanks in advance.

1.5 diesel
That might be your problem :p >:)

When you say the rear, rear of the car (Exhaust system?) or engine bay?

Having read the post, I'll conclude rear of engine bay.
You say a mechanical, growling noise - Does it sound like an exhaust issue, or metal on metal-esque - Do you have adequate oil?

No its in the engine bay behind what looks like a distributor. it has two rubber tubes going into it. Not sure if the turbo is behind the engine but if it is its above the inlet pipe. If that makes sense...

Mechanical humming from 10G diesel

Hi All, just an update (and I've managed to upload a couple of pictures!)

Had it in the dealership today as the noise has got worse and was told it's the throttle butterfly and its normal engine noise!

Now I might be missing something, but the hum can be heard over the engine every time the engine is warm and idling and it doesn't sound normal to me.

Any suggestions and is anyone else suffering from it?

Cheers.
