Hertfordshire Type R?

Hello Cob,

Noticed ** from St Albans I'm from Watford but my parents live in Chiswell Green...I have a NHB CTR with rages, private reg (R2...), tints and Phillips bright lights:) Will keep an eye out for ya as there aren't too many Type R's around our area. Got mine from the guys at Brayley in Hatfield they are excellent and always helpful.

Next up... ABP FRS set up, Milltek, KW variant 3, and will wait for decent mods coming out like Gruppe before I do anything else. Have you done anything to yours yet?

See you around mate,

Vince

Hi Vince, I'm pretty sure I've spotted you a couple of times mate :D I haven't had the time yet to carry out any mods but I have a few in mind I'm just waiting as there's quite a few being developed ;) I really want the ABP FRS too - might combine it with the 1st service - when were you thinking about getting yours done? I'll keep an eye out too.

Hi mate I have booked in with ABP in October. I managed to get Hondata Group N ECU off someone on this site for a good deal so will be fitting it next week. Also snapped up a KW Variant 1 coilover suspension kit from another forum member but will take it to ABP to fit in and they will put the FRS spec and lower by 25mm. Have also just got my hands on front/rear splitters and will fit them next week too:)

Booked in to see ABP in October and will get Milltek, K&N filter, fitting my KW, FRS and lower 25mm as well as front polished strut brace!! Thats it no more upgrades or the wife will have a fit!!

Are you still going to wait for further development before you do anything? Will post my findings once everything is fitted end of October take care mate speak soon.

Specialist Civic tuner in Crewe

FRS = Fast Road Setup

Taken from another post :
CIVIC TYPE ‘R’ FAST ROAD GEOMETRY SET-UP

ABP specialise in the Honda Civic Type R and this experience allows us to offer something a little bit special.
Even if your civic type R is within Honda’s tolerance range you can still experience poor handling, excessive tyre wear and vague steering. We have found the majority of civic type R that we have checked in our workshop to be on the outside tolerance limits.
Most modern cars have fully adjustable wheel alignment, castor adjustment & camber adjustment both front & rear, unfortunately the civic type R is not one of these!
Here ABP at we have developed a way of adjusting the civic type R camber angles to vastly improve the handling, turn-in, general feel and overall performance. We can set your civic type R to exact Honda specification (something the dealers cannot do due to the camber being non adjustable) Or to our own fast road developed ABP specification making the car much better!

Thanks Cush:) Hi Deano I live in Watford but will be making a 2 and a half hour trip to Crewe in October to get these things fitted to my CTR. Reason for travelling so far is that there aren't that many well know/reputable places near us and ABP are excellent I dont mind making the extra journey. They will fit the Milltek for me for £449 which is a great price. The sound of the exhaust is amazing and there are slight power gains too.

If you look on youtube there is a link which shows the ABP test car fitted with the Milltek exhaust system....sounds beautiful!!

wow that answered my questions beautifully, thanks guys. That 'fast road set up sounds rather appealing, any idea how much it will cost?
I did see the video on the miltek website today & it does sound well worth the money, might have to start saving my pennies i guess ay!haha

Hello mate - your mods sound very cool, I'm really interested to see what difference the ecu upgrade makes you have to let me know  I have to be selective about what mods I make at the moment, I spent a load of money recently learning to skydive and have my 1st service coming up but I'd love the exhaust, ECU and strut upgrade - oh yeah and the FRS and at some point I want to rip out the crap Honda sound system (feels wallet shrinking rapidly).

it's excellent mate - can't recommend it enough :D. I learned in Chatteris near Cambridge (north london parachute club), the guys there are really good. I can't compare skydiving to vtec but you can't beat a vtec trip up and then jumping out of an airplane for an adreneline packed day  I'm looking forward to your pics and review.
