Dear all,

The Orange warning light on the dash turns on and the car stops (little by little until it stops).

Honda Specialists replaced EGR and a valve related to it. (a lot of money spent...).

The car does not work. They say that the problem could be the ECU but they do not dare to replace it as it is too expensive and the fault might not resolved. If they change it would be under my sole responsability (they are not 100% about ECU hypothesis).

What would you do if your were in my shoes?

Thanks in advance.

I would have the error code read and post it in this thread so members can get our heads together, argue for a while, then maybe suggest a likely course of action. But, without the error code all we can do is guess!

Welcome to Civinfo. Sorry you have this problem.

Thank you very much for your answer Jon.

Honda specialist said that "the machine" located the fault in the ECU. He is "almost" sure the "machine" is right. But he is not completely sure. I will try to find out.

I know this is maybe going back a step, but do you know anyone with an OBD2 reader who can read the ECU error code for you?

Honda technicians do have access to specific diagnostic equipment that should pinpoint the fault... it seems unlikely that they might be wrong. Maybe get a second (Honda) opinion before spending a lot of money on a replacement ECU!
