Hi guys

My axle bushes need replacing, I have the parts ready, but the garage I usually use want £300 to do the work

Is this a good price? I feel it's a tad on the pricey side, but better than Honda wanting to replace the whole axle

Is their quote to drop the rear axle in order to change the bushes? That's more work and will involve a brake bleed too.
Certainly is, he said it's a minium of 6 hours to do

Quoted £270 from another garage, so going in the right direction

The bushes can be removed with the axle in-situ but extra care needs to be taken not to damage the central axle brake hose.

It also depends on how they plan to remove/re-fit the bushes as without a press kit it's a really chore. To remove the bushes I've seen garages hack away at the old bushes which takes much longer than pressing them out (with the correct drift).

A generic bush drift kit isn't that expensive, with numerous available on eBay/Amazon.

Maybe they're quoting the Honda book hours for removing/refitting the axle?
