hi everyone having some mods fitted on saturday these include fd2 cams
larger throttle body .RRC inlet and DECAT .my question is do i need a remap straight away or can i wait a week cheers rigger:eek:

Decat upsets the fuelling so it's not good to run it like this long term. A week you'd get away with, without much of a problem except for the engine management light coming on.

The larger throttle body and RRC might cause you issues with the throttle being lumpy coming on and off the throttle, generally wouldn't be as smooth as OEM until it's remapped.

However the killer is the JDM cams. Profile is different from FN2 cams, the ECU won't know how to run them and they need to be mapped.

If you could get a base map for the time being it would see you a week as a stop gap, but I really wouldn't run FD2 cams on a stock car for any length of time.

If these are all the mods you put, I don't think so you will get more than 15HP (including remap). Profits from larger TB & RRC you might observe with much more powerful cams and probably increased compression ratio. Already having all I/H/E options on board.

All I can advise is that you keep below your Vtec rpm and don't put your foot down. This should keep the ECU in closed loop mode and use the AFR sensor to tweak your tuning. It should correct it to an extent. As said, you want to be getting it tuned ASAP really.

Read somewhere in a magazine that the Clio 200 with cams and a remap only makes 217 bhp. People say the fn2 is hard to tune. Goes to shoe good the k20 engine is

Have a friend who is a Honda tech in Liverpool does all the mechanical for me will probably go to tdi or eurospec

Don't know about the 200 but my 197 only made 185 bhp with akropovic exhaust and ktec filter which was pretty much the norm for the clio's in terms of not making stock power figures. Even seen a stock one make 168 bhp at the flywheel and it was 14 months old with 10k on the clock. Ps mine was superchipped too.

Had the throttle body fitted and the decat more power mid range but a bit lumpy think this is due to not having a remap been in touch with romain at eurospec to book car in will be fitting cams the day before full dyno and remap should see a difference then really love the fn2 and your right jeza I am like a kid at Xmas
