Have orderd all the parts and read up how to wire in etc, just wanted some pointers and help on how to actually mount the camera on the rear. I'm planing on mounting it next to the number plate light fixing it with two self taping screws supplied with the camera.

Is it best to remove the plinth with the number plate lights on to get room to attach?

And is it best to drill a pilot hole and then use the screw or another method?

All help is welcome thanks in advance

Great timing, I'm halfway through fitting mine but ran out of daylight.

I was considering using the supplied adhesive pad but a couple of screws will be more secure.

Someone must have documented this already, let me search...

A pilot hole will help accurately position the holes, I'll give that a go tomorrow.

Let me know how you get on and how it turns out.

So you recon it's doable leaving the plastic plinth on, also I didn't realise you put the cable through the rear light I thought I read somewhere it was the numberplate light or is that wrong

Will do.

Yeah, the plinth is quite wide and you should be able to get a drill in there.

Some take the wire through the reversing lamp housing, as this is more central, but harder to remove. Most go through the outer light unit, which is easier to take off. The later might need an additional support for the cable as it runs to the side of the tailgate - we'll see, I may dab a blob of sikaflex in there later.

To mount the camera on the underside of the light cluster, I first marked the positions with a bradawl. Which helped the small 2mm drill bite rather than skate over the plastic. Go slow with a sharp bit and you'll manage.

All look okay? Did you do it on the piece of plastic left to the number plate light (half circle shape) best I can describe.

Also still confused to where the wire routes do you push it up under the main middle light till it reaches the outside brake light and then route this through that light and make a small cut out on the lense to make it fit flush?

Yup, its looking dandy now that the car is all back together again.

I mounted the camera to the left of the number plate, as you look at the back of the car. Positioning it just behind the half circle.

Yes, the camera cable sits in a small channel under the center panel, running to the outside of the vehicle and the outer most lamp on the tail gate. Take this light out and cut a small recess underneath for the cable to sit in and then pop it back on.

A squirt of spray silicone in both ends of the tailgate grommet allowed a cable tie to slip through and back with the camera cable :)

Getting the cable to/from the tailgate grommet was great fun

I'm sure you'll have fun with yours

Yes and yes.

If you want to play around with the position, then use a sticky pad first.

Get that part out the way today.

So you mounted it to the left of the circle? Any chance you have a photo of yours fitted so I can get an idea?

I read somewhere aswell about cutting the grove out the light behind the foam?

Mount the camera where you see fit, you don't have a right lot of choice.

Yes, follow the guides. Once you have the light cluster out then you will see what needs to be done.

As you say, the job can the done in stages.

Now crack on ;)

All mounted and looks good just waiting on the cables to wire it in. Found it hard to get the drill in at that angle but did in the end.
