Finally managed to get this thing fitted :roll eyes:

I must have started at 14:00, everything came apart easy (centre console etc...) as I've done this a few times now. Until I came to getting the gear linkages 'un-snapped' from the shifter unit :face palm:

I have only now just got it fitted and everything is still apart and in bits until I tomorrow morning when I can fit my xcarlink while it's all apart.

First quick impression is that the throw is VERY short so far well worth it.


I have to give a big thanks to antmaz for his how2 as I would have had even more problems

never known this and perhaps a stupid question but what does the mugen quickshift change to the standard shifter?

Im thinking of buying one along with the Skunk 2.

TBH now that it's been installed for some time it doesn't feel so special. That's probably because I've got used to it. I bet if I changed it back I would hate it

I think im right in saying that the Skunk 2 compliments the QS.

I dont want to fork out for one and regret it.

I had the Skunk2 before I got the Mugen shifter. There was a huge difference just with that. Once I changed to the Mugen shifter it was even better, it's so much easier to change gear.

I'd recommend the TDi-North version, as it's shorter and cheaper than the Mugen

Knob-wise, the Skunk 2 is perhaps too light for a short shifter
