Washing my FN2 yesterday and I notice that a crack in my mugen wing came out of nowhere on the right had side on the arms where the blade joins to the base. :(

Yes the wing is geniune. It appears to be either a stress crack on the gelcoat or could be structural damage at the fiberglass level that has caused the problem.

I havent driven my car recklessly and car is subjected to the normal bumps or train tracks and speed humps.

Need to get my panel beater to investigate and fix which is going to set my back a few dollars. Thought I was paying for Mugen quality.

I afraid that it might happen to the other side too. Any ideas what could have caused this, what to look out for in other areas of the wing and how to prevent it from happening?

I'd contact whoever you bought it from and get them to speak to Mugen.

It does look like a strange place for it to crack, but the joint isnt far from there, here is a picture of mine prior to it being painted:

How long have you had it?
Did you buy it new?

That's a strange place for a crack to appear.
Got it new probably almost a year ago but only has been on my car for about 6 months.

It looked exactly like the picture by R555 before being painted.

If you see on the picture, on the surface, it looks as of the white gelcoat has been crack. But as you said, it is strange since I dont think it is common occurrence amongst mugen wing owners.

Is it possible a rogue stone may have hit it right on the crease line shown in R555's picture. It's a very big long shot but maybe a stone hitting the precise spot will cause it to crack. Is there any sign of where the crack may have started?

I can not see your pics too well as on my phone so sorry if it's clear not stone chips are on there from the pics

Is it possible that someone has tried to steal it or given it a good pull to see how well attached it is to the Bootlid?

Speak to whoever you brought it though. If it was an "official" Mugen dealer then you might be pleasantly suprised ;)

Mugen have been really good when we/customers we have supplied have found any issues.
We had 2 items that just had a couple of small pinholes develop over time where the paint blistered due to lifting gellcoat. Chances are it was due to poor paint prep as you have to be quite carefull with the way they are prepared but Mugen just exchanged them no quibble on my say so.
