My FN2 - new parts

Everyone seems to have a project recently so i thought id jump on the bandwagon :)

I've had my FN2 for a little over a year now and finally the modification bug has bitten, The plan is a few simple bolt on bits and a remap using flashpro- who by i havent decided yet but theres a few options in the works.

The plan is:
RRC manifold wrinkled black- arrived
Rocker cover- although its perfect as it is , to be wrinkled black
All fixings to be polished or black
Hondata Intake gasket- arrived
Scoopin Crazy Intake kit -ordered
Resonator removed and 83mm ducting between intake kit and airbox- parts arrived
Skunk2 composite fuel rail to keep the black theme
Exhaust manifold, at the minute Tegiwa, but if it doesnt make good power etc il re-evaluate
Possibly RRC cams
Flashpro of course and a map

Theres also a few body work bits that have been annoying me recently, which i will sort along the way. i clipped the front edge of my bumper avoiding a dodgy parking attempt one day which is sometimes visable and also there has been a dodgy smart repair on the rear splitter at one stage, i have priced bodyshops and tbh the sprayed part from Honda is cheaper and ensures a 100% colour match so thats the avenue im using when the time comes.

Anyhows a few pics.

My car as its is, pretty much a stock 07 Type R GT, with 33k at the minute with an HKS panel filter and a smoothed airbox

In january after a full service - all fluids changed and valve clearances i had it dyno'd at a reputable tuner- excuse the torque scaling please

Today the first of my parts arrived

Sadly I have to wait until the end of the month until the guy whos painting it is free to do it, so it'll have to gather dust in the meantime, the scoopin intake kit hasnt showed up yet but once everythings here and ready itll be gettting fitted at once so im not taking the car apart a few times.

Il probably sort the bodywork issues in the meantime :) thanks for reading

great job stephen, looking forward to seeing the car next month matey.
I should have the intake side of things sorted by the meet including painting of the rocker and rrc Colin. And probably some of the trim pieces replaced they aren't bad by any means its just I'm being picky lol. Possibly flashpro too running group n map.

This is the ducting i have purchased, if my measurements are right its both long enough and wide enough to secure onto the scoop kit and airbox by hoseclips- jubilee jobs :)

Hopefully this is all nice and stealthy heard and not seen so to speak.

Any natty looking hose clips in the engine bay will get a sprinkle of matt black paint when its all stripped down

Thats great man..hope ive given you ideas looking at mine from past shows too :)

Hopefully all goes well for you too :)
yes eric im considering NOS :p
well thats the cam cover off and along with the RRC inlet all packaged up for the courier to get it away for paint

Had a nosey today at how to get the manifolds swapped and i have a question how did you reach the lower left bolt holding the inlet manifold to the head as you look into the engine bay ?

appreciated

Stephen
regarding the driven crazy scoop you can open a litle more the "inlet" with a dremell. I open it probably 3 or 4 mm more.
Bit of an update tonight. Bear with me because I'm trying to do this via mobile.

Just got this image in from Paul at Spooner productions who's painting my rocker cover and manifold.looking good so far.

Also ordered tonight where black nuts for the rocker cover stainless spacers and a carbon plug cover all from tegiwa
I'll keep updating when I can

Just recieved a few more pics and got wifi access here so thought id share them. Like i said before the work is being done by Paul at spooner productions

Spooner Productions

Initially he was unsure of doing the inlet manifold as he had never done before, but after a quick phone call and reassurance if it didnt work out just to strip it and return it he took it on with perfect results from what i can see.

The rocker cover is being worked on at the minute and should be done tomorrow, as soon as i get pics il fire them up.

Need also to get back home and find a way of hiding/tucking the injector loom to show off the possible fuel rail upgrade too- stock one is fugly

Stephen

PS thanks for the comment guys :) any Qs feel free to ask

Crackle black is sexy as hell. I'll be watching this with interest
What length of ducting do you need? as i just got my driven crazy scoopin and im going to order some 83mm ducting pipe :)
I forget the exact measurement pal but the stuff i got from ebay uk and is 83mm and came in a 1metre length which is adequate

83mm 3 1/4" Neoprene Cold Air Feed Ducting Hose 1 Metre on eBay (end time 27-Mar-11 18:39:53 BST)

Thats the link i used, came 2 days later as well :) seems a good seller

Hope this helps
