Driving home from work pulled up to lights and it wont go in to first gear, so pull away in second and all the other gears seem fine! So i pulled in to petrol station where there was an aa man and he described what had happened and he reckoned the clutch had gone. Tried to put in to second didnt feel right felt very stiff yet clutch pedal fine! all other gears no problem managed to get home just about avoiding first gear! 2008 civic fn2! Can anyone help??

only an idea do the cables need adjusting? this is poss why you have only lost 1 gear?

5th gear went in my last car, I never bothered getting it repaired as it was gonna be a strip the gearbox down job, 6 months later the full gearbox went.
It could just be the cables and is the most common I believe but I would have it looked at soon as you dont want to damage anything else.

shine a torch into the engine bay where the gearbox is and get someone to slot the gearstick in and out of each position.
if it is this then it could be just a dash out job.
If it is a new car then itll be a warranty job surely?
