Hi,

I just installed a new sony headunit (a sony xav3005db) in my 1.6DTEC Tourer.
I got the connects2 installation kit wired everything up and the unit switches on but unfortunately I dont have any sound whatsoever.

I did some more research and it turns out that as my car is a Diesel it does have the amplifier and thats probably why Im not getting any audio.

Does anyone now how I could somehow bypass or reconnect the amplifier so that I can get audio.

Im getting a little bit desperate now!

Thanks

Hey buddy.

Basically you're going to have to find the amp, usually it's on the drivers side I think and then disconnect the connector block that has the outputs which go to each speaker and the connector which connects the headunit to the amp.
From here, you'll then need to connect the right wires from one plug into the other once you work out what wires go to speakers and what ones are 12 volt power.
A volt meter can be used to determine the power ones which are not needed.
With these eliminated you can then concentrate on finding each pair of wires that lead to each speaker in the car.
Imm assuming they'll be 4 pairs of wires, two pairs going to the front speakers and two pairs going to the rear door speakers.
Sometimes they are the same colour going to each door, but one has a stripe to denote the negative wire. So you may find a pair of grey wires for example and one has a black stripe.

With these wires found you can use a simple AA battery with two wires to put a small amount of power to the speaker, when you do it'll make a small pop and help you determine which colour goes to which speaker. In this case left front, left rear, right front, right rear.

Once you find the amp snap some photos of the connectors and the wiring colours and I will see if I can help you rule some out.
