Coming home from the Metro Center tonight, off the A1, I approached my favourite round about; it's the one where I like to push the FRS, feathering the throttle; maintaining grip, a little tyre squeal, then a flick of the wheel, shifting the weight of the car; keeping the wheels within the lane and flooring it through V-Tec shifting up until 70 as quick as I can onto a long stretch of dual carraige way.

As I entered the round about, two lights appeared in my rear view mirror, turning right just like me. I went through my well rehearsed maneuvers, pulling away on the roundabout, only slightly from the lights behind me. Suddenly,as I straightened my wheel on the dual carraige way and pulled into the left hand lane, an almighty SCREAM cut above my revving V-Tec and a Nissan GT-R whizzed past me; it was amazing. The acceleration on that thing was unbelievable. I eased off the accelerator at 70 to maintain my speed and I swear that within the 3 seconds it must have been going twice as fast.

The driver was definitely flooring it and I do not condone the speed he was travelling, that's not my intended point here.

I know it's in a different league and I LOVE my car to bits but that car astounded me.

Has anyone actually been in one?

One awesome car that, god how I'd love one, you should have changed up to 3rd lol
Ha!
I figured there wasn't any reason to mess with it lol

You know what? Those Mugen number plate bolts don't give me the 10bhp extra I thought they would lol

Dad owned one mate.

That car is the kind of car you literally think, how on earth are other cars faster than this.

He has since turned sensible and bought a 635d BMW fully loaded.

I still dream and think about it.

He had CPR stage 2 on the car when he sold it.. Good power hike. Absolute beauty.

The standard GTR is pretty quiet.. Most owners (like my dad) bought the Milltek y pipe.

I've driven one, the speed is so fast and so easy it's a bit boring to be honest. There's no involvement from you really apart from your right foot. The cornering is above excellent though, you just get the feeling even when you think you're on the edge that it's got so much more to give! Astonishing : )

Awesome machines!!!!! :D

Willie at Meercat has a contract for making GTR exhaust systems now, much cheaper than the Milltek and much LOUDER, full 4" systems had one in the last time I was up, sounded incredible :)
