Hi all,

Does anyone have a problem with noisy brakes on their Civic? My Type-R has done 20k, and was serviced at the start of April, where it said that they were only 25% worn all round.

At low speed braking, I can hear the brakes - they are quite noisy and a bit worrying really. There is no squeal.

I took it to Honda the other day to check the pads and they said they were all fine..

Any ideas?

I had this and solved it by changng my brakes, not sure if the problem was caused by speaky shims or the pot 'tab' shifting around as only one tab was bent in when I removed it.....

Probably the disks. I really don't know the term in english. We call it "vidrados", and it happens when the disks over-heat and then cool off too quickly. They may even get ovalised. If that is it it's not too much of a problem except for the noise. The car still brakes more or less normaly. In case they get ovalised the braking may become a little incoherent.
If that is the case, there is usually three choices:
-Replacing the disks
-Rectifying (not sure about this term) the disks
-Do nothing

I don't recommend the latter :)
