I got an ex-demo Civic about 4 months ago and I got the handsfree add-on (the dealer added one) but unfortunately it didn't come with a manual. Up to now it's been fine, but I now have a new phone and I'm having a few issues with it.

Is there any way to change the handsfree from a headset to handsfree mode; because with my new Nokia N73; everytime I press a button or do anything on the phone my music cuts out and the bluetooth cuts in, which is obviously more than annoying.

Have you checked that you dont have button sounds on in the N73 profile? if they are on they send the button sounds to the bluetooth device, which would explain why the music is interrupted. Same thing happens on a Bluetooth headset..

I got my car ex-demo so I paid a fixed agreed price for it with bluetooth, mudflaps and car matts.

I actually realised about the button sounds and I have now disabled them; but it is still annoying when I do other certain things and the audio comes through the bluetooth; I was also hoping to put TomTom 6 on there when released and wanted the audio for that just to come from the device.

How come you have the A pillar one, yet someone else on here has the "Honda Bluetooth Handsfree" kit and its a little button poking out of the gearbox?

Interestingly the Honda UK website seems to be down!
On the Civic brochure under accessories the bluetooth adaptor I have is displayed, but unfortunately not in-situ so it's hard to see the size of it or how it fits; but it's definitely the one that I have. Also other people on here have mentioned it; but I didn't know about the gearbox version! Going for Sunday lunch within the next hour so I shall get a photo!

OK, I forgot to take a photo of my handsfree; but I'll go get one in a bit and add it to this post.

This is the picture of the handsfree in the brochure; slightly edited for size, but otherwise as is.

Another issue that I have though is that neither the phone or HTF ring when someone rings; although the bluetooth will cut in, but if I've not got the stereo on then I might not notice! I think I really need to get the manual.

Did you get hold of the Bluetooth manual?

Hey!

It's been quite a while since you wrote about your Bluetooth kit. But now I'm also in trouble with mine: the battery has been disconnected, and it seems like the kit lost its pairing with my phone. I have misplaced the manual and don't know how to pair the two..?

Did you get hold of the manual?

Could you explain the procedure for me, please?

Thanks!

press and hold down the two lower bottons on the device until the blue light starts to blink. Now the unit should be activated for pairring with your mobilephone.

Thanks!

I also found pairing instructions at the Honda Access site.
http://www.honda-access.com/268/en/Images/50138.pdf
There was some additional info under news. No link available since it's some kind of Flash site... :-(

However, it did not help much: the phone says it has added the HF device, but the pairing doesn't complete. The blue LED keeps flashing, and it beeps at me three times in a row, then starts over flashing, and beeping a moment later...

I'm going to ask my dealer to get me a new manual.

I know these posts are old,

However I have just had this fiited in my 1.8 ES and can copy the O&M for anyone who still requires it.

The system was installed by Honda and works great through the front speakers.

It is either touch answer or auto.

I use a stong piece of double sided velcro and a home made window sucker (ex sat nav holder) as a phone holder. This acts as caller ID :D

The O&M in only 12; B3 pages big.
