Well after over five weeks of waiting finally got my car back from the body shop after the hail damage!
They have made a complete mess of it!
So far: bumpers don't match colour of car (I know there can be a shade of difference but this is ridiculous)
Edges of painted panels have been touched up and can see metal through them
Non Honda windscreen fitted so auto wiper unit dosent fit
Dust or dirt under the new paint
Minor damage to some of the internal trim
Bonnet dosent line up
They hadn't even cleaned it properly

I have taken the car back and straight to Honda dealer so they could have a look! They said its not the worst repair they had seen!!!
Have contacted insurance and the body shop just waiting for managers to get back to me! I was going to refuse to take the car but I didn't want them to botch anything else!

Anybody reccomend a decent body shop in Warwickshire?

bumpers don't match colour of car (I know there can be a shade of difference but this is ridiculous) Maybe a slight difference but no more than the other but again a genuine Honda bumper already comes painted and I fitted one 6 months ago on a 3year old milano and it matched fine, (did they fit new or badge yours?)

Edges of painted panels have been touched up and can see metal through them
simply not good enough and needs putting right

Non Honda windscreen fitted so auto wiper unit dosent fit
should be repaired like for like and if so if not genuine Honda then all the parts should fit as if it was genuine Honda

Dust or dirt under the new paint
probably dirt in the paint

Minor damage to some of the internal trim
not good enough

Bonnet dosent line up
should fit perfectly after repair as if the car was never damaged hence the reason they call it a repair

They hadn't even cleaned it properly
only minor but not really the point

My advice get straight on to the insurance company and tell them the problems and you want this putting right, problem here is because they paid someone to do this they will most likely want them to put this right at no cost to them as they have been paid to do the job correctly

Yeah that's what I thought as well! Forgot to mention that it took a week longer to repair than stated! I had to hire a car to go on holiday as the courtesy car wasn't big enough!

Wow gutting, whats the interior like have they made a hash of putting it back in. Was it a body shop that your insurance chose, as for finding another one you may be in for a long wait as most around my way (Leicestershire) are fully booked because of this storm the one who's squeezed me in is fully booked up till October. Can't see how they managed this as it was a bare shell to work on, theoretically your car should of had the thickest paint job ever to be applied to a Honda.

That's not good mate, get on to your insurance straight away as they don't like complaints after a repair no point ranting at the bodyshop manager as he'll try to fob you off.

There are 6 shades of CW, no excuse for them not matching the colour as they should have colour chips or spray a test card to get the correct match.

Panel edges not painted is poor, they maybe foam edged the panels when spraying then maybe polished through when polishing after paint, that's when the dirt under the paint should have been dealt with.

The auto wiper sensor should fit whether it's a Honda screen or not, the same companies make windows for cars in the UK just brand them different but they should have fitted a Honda one.

Too much of a coincidence that your trims are damaged just after your car has had a repair, stick to your guns on this one.

The bonnet not sitting properly is a joke, as Rick says the bonnet was straight on and off, ask to see the parts list just incase they have fitted a "cheap" bonnet.

It's a shame it's went this way mate and I know it'll be a pain in the hole to get it sorted.

Really?? im having my mugen rear wing sprayed without my car present, they took the paint code i didn't think there was 6 different shades would a wing be noticeable if a different shade, im hoping not.

Dunno what shade yours might be mate, mine is standard shade as I got it matched when I was getting some paint work done. In saying that my rear bumper is a different shade and that's next on the list.

mine is white white but have noticed the drivers rear wing can look a slightly creamy white was told because it's plastic the colour looks different
Nothing to do with the plastic.

I got a new front bumper through warranty and it matches perfect, just the rear one that's the problem for me.

Not good enough dude! you may report them to trading standards!
Insurance company first then the ombudsman should you hit a wall with the insurance company.

Shonky repair work should not be tolerated.

Sorry to hear this bud. :(

I imagine this is one of those where the insurance Co have their own approved repairers.

Bottom line is that it's approved because it gives preferential rates.

I would always insist on a Honda bodyshop.

+1.. I would try to insist you have no confidece the the bodyshops ability to give the car back in the same condition it was before the incident.
Demand it goes to a bodyshop of your choice instead.
But I fear its too late once you have accepted them to do the work.
