Not done Civic EML yet (as its not ON in mine) but I did friends Renault Scenic II.
I was using fleabay cheap bluetooth elm327 with android phone and some free aps (type OBD in Market) and it did worked. Showed me error codes and erased EML. It needed few runs of "ERASE" tho.

I also tried same elm327 adapter with bluetooth dongle on EEE PC with some free software of the internet (cant remember the names now - sorry) and it read Civic state and parameters as well.
Thats my experience.

P.S. Save the error codes as you might need it to resolve car fault i.e. what needs to be done.

Good luck

You can use it as a free trial download.
I think you may well be able to read and resete the codes with it in trial mode ;)

Phil, sorry mate, just seen your PM about this... TBH I don't know. Relic is your man :)

Before I got my WiFi OBD2 adaptor, I had the bluetooth ELM one thats on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Android-T...iagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item19c9ec554f

It came with a disk of PC software which were supposed to be trials.. but a couple of them when installed on my lappy seemed to be the 'full' version? as everything worked and no sign of limitations Cracked maybe? I don't know if they will clear the codes as I did not play with them too much.

Anyway, before I sold the adaptor, I copied the CD ;) .... I can sent you the files later if you want via email/download when I get home :)

A cheap china "orange/blue" or "big blue" elm327 bluetooth scanner should do the trick (only general PID reading, error reading+erasing no reprogramming)

I've bought a Vgate scanner and waiting delivery.

Realtime data can have a lag (depending on the number of gauges), but only $200 devices seems to handle fast PID reading (loads of reviews on youtube)

i have the elm 327 obdII usb cable and i use proscan5.5 software which works very well on vw, however when i connect it to the civic connects fine and gives no errors, but when you go through the menus on the software like the revs or o2 sensors never shows anything so not to sure when says there's no errors is it telling the truth.

what software are ye using? i have tried scan xl trial

elm327 bluetooth scanner - like already mentioned above - IT WILL WORK !!
2 times in last few months I had Check Engine due high boost pressure and both times with no problems I read fault and with one click on my mobile phone ERASED FAULT. And second time it was on highway at 60MPH - Turbo shut down and engine went in safe mode at max speed, and I turned them ON even without stopping - pulled away again...

And it was free (LITE) version program...and there is same program to buy with more options, but free one was enough to READ/ERASE...
